RECOMMEND ME A SERIES THAT I SHOULD WATCH..

that is if I haven't seen it already!

I'm in the mood for something new.. it's like a coping mechanism. I cling to things that make me happy when I am sad.

Things I have watched and enjoyed lately~ (sorry for wall of text.)

TV series:
Bones - Crime drama, but with huge focus on charactersn; most episodes have a clear focus, which is crime drama just the way I like it. Bones is also incredibly intelligent and brutally honest, so I learn things and there's some very dry humor in the series too, mostly to do with Bones' honesty.

Warehouse 13 - Syfy drama about a warehouse that protects artifacts. Ever imagined that Lewis Carroll's looking-glass might have existed, and as an extension Alice as well? Or maybe Lizzie Borden's compact, which can make someone kill the person that they most care about. There's a pretty endless list, and I love watching it for the characters as much as I do to see what kind of artifact they'll come up with next :D -- and the cool part is, even artifacts that have good effects normally also have a bad side-effect. I'd tell what some are, but it would spoil things. (There are, of course, good artifacts without bad side effects or that cannot be used for evil, but those don't end up in the Warehouse.)

Legend of Korra - If you've seen Avatar, you have to see this. It's Avatar all grown up. If you haven't seen Avatar: The Last Airbender (the TV series)... Why? It's no worse than, say, Naruto, and imho (as a Naruto fan) its better parts are much better than Naruto's.

Rinne no Lagrange - Okay this series is RIDICULOUS but I absolutely love it. It holds a special place in my heart! It's magical girl mecha...with a lesbian OT3. And flowers everywhere. What more can you ask for? (The animation is surprisingly gorgeous.)

Ao no Exorcist - Fluffy shounen candy with fraternal incest overtones. Um, yes, please?

Inazuma Eleven - I cannot justify this one, much like PoT. I just can't. But I watch it anyway!

Re-watching:
Battlestar Galactica - I dunno if you like space opera, but I don't. Star Trek, Star Wars... I dislike the vast majority of them. But I *love* BSG. Why? Because it's about what happens after the end of the world, and it deals with those issues without flinching, and also it's about the characters more than the mytharc. If the specific characters in the show weren't the ones in their positions, the show would be completely different. The characters just go there. Sometimes they make it through, sometimes they don't (yeah, BSG's not afraid to kill major players off) but always, always they are true to themselves in the best and worst ways possible. It's also about human nature, for better or worse.

Caprica - a prequel to BSG, but more from a teenage perspective than the in-depth adult perspective BSG goes with always. (I can explain to you what I mean by 'teenage perspective' if you like; it's not a bad thing, merely a differentiation in the approach.) Awesome but unfinished and likely to remain that way, much like Firefly.

(umm. continuing in a second comment.)

Serieses I have yet to finish watching/catch up on because the seasons weren't over when I last checked:
White Collar (pretty sure there's not anyone who doesn't watch the show for Neal Caffrey), True Blood (I watch for Lafayette, mostly, because he is FABULOUS and fierce but I can only take vampires in small doses), L&O SVU (may or may not be good for you when you're depressed; I like it because watching other people deal with their trauma helps me deal with mine).

Movies:
Black Snake Moan - A movie about how Blues and being chained up help a girl with her issues. No, really. If you overlook the undertones, it's a very sweet story about Christia Ricci and Justin Timberlake's characters helping one another through their PTSD, with the help of Laz and the blues. (Okay, so I mostly love this movie for the music.)

Tangled - SO SWEET I seriously watch this whenever I need a pick-me-up. Best Disney movie since the golden era in the 90s (Lion King, Pocahontas, Aladdin, etc)
Lilo and Stitch - I hadn't seen this for the longest time, and I mentioned to someone that I was going to need more movies in my feel-good collection than Tangled and they asked if I'd ever seen it. Having seen it... well, I added it to the rotation.

Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor, Avengers - A friend of mine said to me, "They must've just said 'An asshole and irreverent alcoholic? I know just who should play him!' when they chose the actor for this" back when the first one came out. I do like RDJ, though, so I saw both movies anyway, and they are also on the pick-me-up rotation, though to a lesser extent than the animated movies.

Star Trek (reboot, 2009 version) - Having said that I hate space opera earlier, I like this one because it's not in TV series form and it's all about the characters. Again, if it were different characters, the movie wouldn't happen. ...also I find it amusing to watch Spock have more on-screen chemistry with Kirk than he does with Uhura.
